Ollie Roučková and Ondřej Martinec will not be missing from the start of the Berounka Rally Revival this weekend. After being accepted to the Dakar Classic, both crews got down to a complete overhaul of both racing cars — the Suzuki Samurai underwent weight reduction, and the Toyota Land Cruiser went through a full renovation. The Berounka rally will be a confirmation of navigation for the Dakar Rally itself.
“Our team has grown with a second racing car, in which we have a brand-new navigator. A navigator novice will also sit in my Suzuki, as due to certain circumstances I had to find a new navigator. That will be Jiří Kopřiva. And you see, the ‘from nettles to Dakar’ project is gaining a new dimension, precisely with Jirka. Ondřej Martinec will be navigated by our chief mechanic Gabriel Žúbor. This means I’ve lost my chief mechanic, but on the other hand I see great strength in our second crew.” – Ollie Roučková
The Roudnice-based Czech Samurais crews Roučková and Martinec will start the Rallye Berounka Revival with their competition vehicles Suzuki Samurai and Toyota Land Cruiser.
