Once again, we became part of an extraordinary sporting event – the second race of this year’s ČEZ RunTour series, which arrived in Kopřivnice on 26 April 2025 and offered a unique experience not only to runners but also to fans of precision, style and determination – values we share as well.
The race took place in the iconic grounds of Tatra Trucks, where the course ran along a testing polygon normally closed to the public. This attractive venue drew a record number of participants – over 1,600 runners lined up at the start, including nearly 1,150 adults and more than 450 children.
Running for a Good Cause
The running festival in Kopřivnice had not only a sporting but also a charitable dimension. Through the EPP – Pomáhej pohybem (Help by Moving) app, CZK 111,111 was raised to support the construction of a children’s playground in Štramberk. And the “Běž za školu” (Run for Your School) project, supported by Lidl, motivated young runners from AKEZ Kopřivnice, who earned the title of Regional Truants as well as a financial bonus.
Atmosphere and Personalities
The races were ceremonially started in the presence of notable figures such as the Deputy Mayor of Kopřivnice Mgr. David Monsport, runner Soňa Hrabec Kotulková, and HC Vítkovice Ridera head coach Václav Varaďa. He and several Vítkovice players also took on the ten-kilometre race – with the kind of determination that resonates with us.
