Roučková wants back to Dakar – in a car!

For the first time in our family company’s history, we have dared to prepare a limited edition of 21 watches for brave women.

The ambassador of this edition is experienced Dakar racer and inspiring woman Ollie Roučková. Moreover, with every purchase of the PRIM Dakar Ollie 2021 watch, we will donate 800 CZK to the foundation “Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer”. The symbol of the “bow”, known as a symbol associated with breast cancer awareness, has been placed on the dial, case and lid of the watch. The logo is thus symmetrically complemented by an original bow, which will remind every owner of the importance of prevention.

The hell that Ollie Roučková fell in love with. She flew through the endless sea of sand rippled by treacherous dunes on a quad bike, then returned to it behind the wheel of a racing buggy. And now? Now she plans to take part again – and she won’t be driving either of her previous toys. She’ll be driving a car! “If I manage to learn how,” she laughs with the ever-positive Ollie’s characteristic understatement, as she currently gets to know her new garage companion bolt by bolt.

She was the first Czech woman to finish the Dakar. And her verdict was clear: “It was hell.”

The hardworking Toyota Land Cruiser 120 will compete in the T2 category, among production cars with mandatory modifications. And it is precisely those mandatory modifications that are being completed on it now. Ollie and her team must fit the car with, among other things: a sports suspension, homologated seats, an auxiliary fuel tank, four-point harnesses, protective nets in the windows, fire-resistant padding, an intercom, a spare electrical harness, and a straight-cut gearbox… It’s no small task!

“It’s something new, but that makes it all the more appealing to me. I’m really glad to have this opportunity and challenge,” reflects Ollie, who started at the famous event in 2018 and 2019. In 2022 she is set to be part of Tomáš Ouředníček’s Ultimate Dakar Racing team. “Tomáš approached me and I was immediately excited by the possibility of working together. We know that more team cars in the race means a better chance of a good result. We’ll be ready – with help and determination – to achieve the best possible finish,” Ollie promises.

She will once again rely on her fans. It will be up to them to choose the name for the car, and they will be able to have a say in the design of the racing suits and helmets. “They’ll be with us from the preparations all the way to the finish line. Let’s hope we’ll get there together,” says the woman who has no habit of giving up.

To make her dreams come true once more, she needs to fill a five-million-crown budget. A helping hand is welcome here too! “There are no limits to support – if someone wanted to donate mascara, that would be great too. I can manage to lose it even in a closed tent,” laughs the most successful Czech female racer once again.

The first proper driving sessions in the car are planned for the end of March, with the first test races being the Morocco Desert Challenge, taking place with the full team from 16–25 September 2021.

“I need to get back in sync with the steering wheel and the navigator – I can’t wait for us to go!” wishes the native of Děčín. Is the whole venture crazy? It is. It couldn’t be any other way coming from the bold ambassador of the Automobile Club of the Czech Republic. “I’d happily do the Dakar in a truck too. But I’ll gladly save that for next time,” she promises, hinting at another possible adventure.
