In recent days, negotiations have been completed and contracts signed with all the teams that will be seen this year at the prestigious Czech stage race Czech Tour. It will take place on Moravian roads from 6 to 9 August. And believe us, you have plenty to look forward to. Competition of this quality has never raced in the Czech Republic before.
“We are thrilled that true world-class riders will appear on the start line and offer our spectators unforgettable experiences. From World Tour teams, cycling fans can look forward to Bahrain McLaren, Sunweb, Jumbo Visma, Bora Hansgrohe and Mitchelton Scott,” says race promoter Jaroslav Vašíček from TTV Sport Group, who has prepared a demanding course for the riders featuring sixteen mountain prizes.
“Simply great competition, but the Pro Continental teams aren’t coming just to make up the numbers either. For example, the ‘diesel engines’ from Norwegian Uno-X or especially Alpecin Fenix with Petr Vakoč, who won this race in 2015, Italian rider Sascha Modolo and reigning Belgian champion Bram Merlier will certainly not want to sell their skin cheaply. Other great teams from Belgium will also ride – Sport Vlaanderen and Bingoal WB, and the riders of the best Czech team Elkov Kasper will certainly want to build on their excellent performances and results from previous years,” Vašíček continues.
The Czech Tour programme has seen route changes. “Unfortunately, for technical reasons the team time trial in Ostrava will not take place, but spectators will again see the race against the clock on the proven Uničov – Medlov – Uničov course. This year too we could not avoid last-minute problems. Road closures and unplanned track repairs alike. But both with the Olomouc Region and the Moravian-Silesian Region we managed everything and hopefully no unwanted surprises await us. There has already been quite a lot,” Jaroslav Vašíček revealed the unwanted changes.

7 August: Stage 2: Prostějov – Uničov (193.4 km)
8 August: Stage 3: Olomouc – Frýdek-Místek (209.8 km)
9 August: Stage 4: Mohelnice – Šternberk (179.2 km)
