Strong gusts of wind, hail, light rain, heavy rain, calm, blue sky bathed in sunshine — in short, typical April weather did not spoil the great atmosphere of the first edition of the Toyota Lexus mobility festival.
The polygon at the airport in Hradec Králové hosted the biggest event of Toyota Czech Republic with an incredible showcase of all models from the world’s largest car manufacturer. The highlight of the superbly prepared event for corporate clients was the Dakar special of the TGR Czech team — the Toyota Hilux GR T1+. Several dozen brave souls had the opportunity to sit in this unique vehicle and experience a small taste of off-road driving on a challenging terrain circuit with pilot Tomáš Ouředníček.
“From many of my new co-drivers, I initially felt great respect and a bit of apprehension, which was replaced by enormous enthusiasm after reaching the finish of the rugged terrain circuit,” commented Tomáš Ouředníček on the intense three days in Hradec. Guests enjoyed the beautiful sound of the Lexus V8 engine and the jumps and spectacular cornering. Visitors could enjoy a thorough inspection of the racing and support vehicles and hear fresh stories from the Dakar Rally. The older Dakar team car, the Toyota Land Cruiser, also attracted interest — it was piloted for two days by the legendary Martin Kolomý, who was later replaced by David Křípal.
“When we arrived and I saw more than 80 Toyota and Lexus vehicles on display, my jaw literally dropped. It was an absolutely unique event where you could test drive all the cars with all types of powertrains and view various modifications and conversions. I also got to sit in the latest Toyota Yaris Rally 2 by HS automobil. We held our breath as we enjoyed the daring aerobatic show by the phenomenal pilot Petr Kopfstein, who later also rode with me in the racing Hilux. We met a number of Olympic athletes and prominent personalities. I am happy that our team could contribute to the positive mood of the entire event, and on top of that, we gained many new Dakar fans.” added pilot Tomáš Ouředníček with a smile.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing Czech team is now looking forward to the next meetings with fans:
